VS in summer

Particularly in the summer you are invited to explore the recreative nature around Villingen-Schwenningen. The Schwenninger Moos nature reserve with its 3.5 kilometer long circular trail is perfect for a relaxed Sunday stroll. The numerous information boards along the route are part of the history and nature trail. They contain exciting information about peat digging and the habitat of moorland. During the regular guided ‘moss tours’ you will experience the Schwenninger Moos from a different perspective depending on the main topic. The tours can be booked at the Environmental Center:

In summer, the former State Garden Show grounds in the Moeglingshöhe municipal park in the Schwenningen district are the ideal place to visit with children: The little ones can really let off steam on the water playground. The ice cream parlor Cristallo from St. Georgen operates an ice cream van behind the festival area, selling sweet food to young and old. Also the 200 meter long barefoot path has been preserved from the State Garden Show 2010. The numerous different floor coverings are maintained weekly by a team of volunteers.

The sunflower field of the Wildi family near the Bertholdshöfe in 78048 VS-Villingen is a real favorite place. On warm summer days you can relax wonderfully in the yellow sea of flowers. Just forget everyday life in the "Black Forest beach chairs" or on the Hollywood swing. Benches and tables invite you to have a picnic and between the sunflowers there are works of art made of natural materials. If you would like to extend your trip, you will find the Natzental game reserve with black and red deer very close by.
