First written mention in a document of Louis the Pious.

Schwenningen is burned down to 3 houses in the peasant war.

Except for the church tower, the village of Schwenningen is destroyed in the Thirty Years’ War.

Johannes Bürk invents the guard control clock and founds the first clock factory in Schwenningen.

The state parliament of Baden-Württemberg passes the special law on the merger of Schwenningen and Villingen, after the citizens had already voted for it in March.
