A trip to Villingen-Schwenningen is always worthwhile - whether in sunshine or rain.
For culture enthusiasts, a visit to one of the numerous museums is recommended. The Franciscan Museum in Villingen houses the finds of the Celtic burial place Magdalenenberg. You can also experience the history of the town with all its facets - from the Villingen Fasnet to the industrialization of Schwenningen and the merger of the two districts. In addition to the permanent exhibitions, the Franciscan Museum also has a temporary exhibition. Admission to the permanent exhibition is free.
The Clock Industry Museum in Schwenningen lets you experience the development of the Schwenningen clock industry. Not only old machines and production facilities are shown, but also the life of the simple factory workers.
In the International Aviation Museum in the Schwenningen district, there are currently about 40 aircraft on display, including some that are still in flyable condition. Often the airplanes are exchanged, so there is a lot of variety.
There are also numerous leisure activities in the Schwenningen district that are independent of the weather. At the black light miniature golf there is a lot to see besides the sportive challenge. On 500 square meters, visitors can discover numerous 3D effects and murals. Apart from additional 3D glasses, the rules do not differ from "normal" minigolf.
The World of Bowling in Schwenningen is recommended for all ages. Whether for birthdays or family celebrations: hours of fun are guaranteed here. If you get hungry between rounds, you can order a snack in the restaurant belonging to the bowling alley.
Even when it rains, Villlingen-Schwenningen offers the opportunity to go swimming. In the Villingen indoor swimming pool or the Schwenninger Neckarbad you can swim your lanes comfortably in the swimmer pools and relax in the wellness area. For children there are non-swimmer and paddling pools.
